AI in everyday hotel operations: LIKE MAGIC, Apaleo and Discontinue connect PMS, guest journey and automation

Via the new integrations, hotel teams can query reservation, guest and operational data from LIKE MAGIC and Apaleo by chat, have agents carry out workflows and automate recurring reports – all within the permissions granted by the hotel.

Vienna, 15 September 2026 – Hotel teams work in several systems every day: the property management system holds the reservation, the guest journey platform the guest communication, and the analysis is put together in a spreadsheet. Apaleo, LIKE MAGIC and Discontinue are closing this gap. Discontinue can now be connected directly to Apaleo's property management platform and to LIKE MAGIC, making data and supported functions from both systems available for chat actions, automated agents and recurring reports. LIKE MAGIC and Apaleo are already integrated; Discontinue adds AI-supported tools to this interplay and accesses both platforms via its own integrations. Which data and actions are available is determined by the permissions granted by the hotel.

This means a hotel team can complete a task relating to a reservation in the chat, have an agent start when a new booking comes in, or automatically receive an overview in the morning. The desired outcome is described in natural language; the team defines how the task is to be carried out.

Chat: ask questions and act straight away

Hotel teams ask questions about current data and carry out supported actions directly in the chat: review an operational issue, identify what needs to be done and initiate the next step without switching systems.

Agents: delegate and automate workflows

Teams describe a process and configure an agent to run it on a schedule or in response to a system event, for example a new booking or a change in the PMS. Agents assess current information, carry out permitted actions and notify the people responsible. A workflow can comprise several steps; wherever the hotel wants to retain control, human approval is required.

Reports: deliver information reliably

Recurring reports are created from a description in natural language and, for scheduled runs, follow saved queries and calculations using current data. Delivery takes place in the hotel's branding by email, Slack or Microsoft Teams; Excel exports are also available.

Three platforms for connected hotel processes

Apaleo provides the open foundation for property management: via its APIs, connected applications access reservation, availability, inventory and financial data, and system events can trigger automated workflows. LIKE MAGIC links the digital guest journey with hotel operations – from arrival through guest communication to team tasks – and, via its integration with Apaleo, keeps changes in the guest journey and the PMS aligned. Discontinue makes this interplay usable through AI and draws the context from guest and team processes into the configured tasks. Further business applications, APIs and MCP servers can be added, so hotels can extend their automations across the systems they use.

Automation under the hotel's control

Teams define which systems an agent may access, which actions it can carry out and which require approval. Execution logs document its activities, costs are shown in euros, and spending limits cap usage. Discontinue uses infrastructure hosted in the EU and does not use customer data to train the underlying AI models.

“Our open platform gives hotels the freedom to choose tools that work with their connected systems,” says Markus Feller, CEO of LIKE MAGIC. “Apaleo provides the open PMS foundation, LIKE MAGIC connects guest and team processes, and Discontinue makes this information usable for concrete actions with the help of AI. In hotels, digitalisation rarely fails because tools are missing, but because the connection is missing, and that is exactly what we are creating together.”

“Apaleo was built API-first to give hotels the freedom and flexibility to build and adapt their own technology ecosystem. That same openness is now enabling an AI-native, agent-ready hospitality ecosystem, where AI can securely access data, connect systems and carry out workflows across the hotel’s tech stack,” says Philip von Ditfurth, founder of Apaleo. “Together with partners like LIKE MAGIC and Discontinue, we are making that vision practical for everyday hotel operations.”

“Work in a hotel follows different rhythms: some tasks have to be done immediately, others when something changes, and others again on a fixed schedule,” says Maximilian Jerg, co-founder of Discontinue. “Teams describe the desired outcome, decide what may happen automatically, and stay involved wherever their judgement is needed. Apaleo and LIKE MAGIC supply the current data and operational functions that make this usable across the entire hotel.”

Already in use: the processes hotel teams automate today

Discontinue is already in use at McDreams Hotels and TheNew Group. Both teams use it for the tasks that come up every day and used to be coordinated by hand. A guest message digest pulls guest messages from connected systems and gives the team a clear view of open requests and handover notes. Room assignments run automatically, based on availability, reservation details and each property's allocation rules. Housekeeping receives cleaning schedules built from occupancy, departures and upcoming arrivals.

Technical and commercial workflows are covered too: maintenance windows are identified between stays and aligned with availability and arrivals. Payment statuses, outstanding balances and discrepancies come together in recurring reports. Door access events are matched against booking and stay data, so anomalies reach the right team.

“With Discontinue we were able to rebuild all the automations we had previously created with low-code and no-code tools in a fraction of the time – with greater efficiency and better results. Sophisticated AI agents that we would not have thought possible before have been running ever since – without IT support and without a single line of code,” says Christoph Klein, McDreams Hotels.

“Discontinue is currently the most innovative and most valuable tool for TheNew Group. We build agents in next to no time that take on important tasks, agents that send reports, communicate with other agents or interact directly with the team,” says Konstantin Irnsperger, Managing Partner, TheNew Group.
